In June 2013, an international team of researchers announced the discovery of a 1,200-year-old city cloaked in the forests of northern Cambodia. Using state-of-the-art laser imaging technology called ‘lidar’ to penetrate the area’s dense jungle, the team unveiled a complex and well-planned urban network of highways, canals, dikes, habitations and temples. You can read about this monumental discovery in The Globe and Mail and the Southeast Asia Globe
